Why we do what we do…

Improvement in the overall sexual health and wellness of Portland’s gay/ bisexual/ queer men and transgender community members.

To provide high quality, culturally specific, sexual health services and create a space to come together around the shared vision of a community free of stigma and shame.

We believe that authentic community requires the active participation and leadership of its members. Pivot seeks to facilitate opportunities for individuals to advocate for their own sexual health and HIV prevention needs.

We value access as a crucial component for individuals seeking health equity for themselves and their community. We believe people have the right to accurate information and resources that are relevant, up-to-date, and affirming of their identities and experiences.

We value a community strengthened by our differences. By actively exploring the ways that factors such as race, culture, gender identity, age, HIV status or socio-economics impact our lived experience, we can better address the sexual health needs of our entire community.

We believe everyone has a right to sexual self-determination. Stigma and isolation experienced by gay/ bisexual/ queer men and trans people drives health disparities, including vulnerability to HIV.  We seek to create a space where sexual expression is validated as a healthy, individual and positive.
