Pivot couldn’t run the show without the great group of staff who provide programming and testing. Don’t hesitate to stop by the front desk to ask questions or have chat. This high energy group loves Pivot and those who frequent this special spot. Here’s a little 411 on the crew.

Fallon has been with the team since July 2009. You can find her staffing Pivot during Film Fridays or on Saturdays during testing. However, the bulk of her work is in the community providing testing at various locations. While not at work, Fallon’s adventurous side is spent exploring Oregon’s great outdoors-camping, hiking and rockhounding. Fallon equally enjoys her time on the sofa drinking her Irish Breakfast tea and watching back-to-back episodes of House Hunters.

Maurice has been on the team since March 2010. He can be found staffing Pivot on Wednesdays & Saturdays but most of his work is outside the office working with communities of color. New to Portland, Maurice says, “I love the city as well as its diverse culture. Having graduated from a performing arts school, my free time is spent singing in church or attending plays, musicals, or out dancing. My other passion is shopping. I believe however that ‘one man’s trash is another man’s treasure,’ so I love shopping the thrift and resale stores.”
Pony joined the Pivot team in July 2011, but was involved for several years prior as a volunteer. Pony’s primary roles include coordinating the MpowerMENt project and various community outreach efforts as well as conducting testing at Pivot and other community locations. He moved to Portland in mid-2000 (almost a native now!) and he absolutely loves the city and its community. Outside of work you can often find Pony trying out new recipes at home, spinning various events as a DJ or at a quiet happy hour with his partner.

Claire joined the gang in August 2010. Before her recent move to Portland, Claire spent the last 8 years in Boston and Philly. Claire’s main role is running the Oregon AIDS/STD Hotline, but you’ll see her from time to time working at Pivot or writing blog posts. Claire’s favorite part of her job? “I work with amazing people and get to talk about sex all day. What more could you want?!” Claire’s free time is spent exploring Portland, hitting up yard sales, toddling around on her bicycle, and watching Strangers with Candy and Golden Girls episodes.

Benjamin joined the team as staff in June, 2011 although he previously volunteered as a City Guy. Benjamin’s main role is serving as the Prevention with Positives Coordinator working with people living with HIV and coordinating the interactive workshop, +alk. Benjamin staffs Pivot for HIV testing and community event nights. When not at work, Benjamin can be seen bicycling around town, working on the house, or taking his rhodesian ridgeback-pitbull “Rogue” out to the beach.

Joseph has been with the Pivot team since July 2007, back when it was called the Men’s Wellness Center. He has fulfilled myriad roles for Cascade AIDS Project since then but currently works at Pivot on Tuesday and Saturday evenings. He also coordinates two HIV testing programs for CAP. In terms of extracurricular activities, Joseph enjoys playing with the Portland Gay Symphonic Band, cycling (support me at Ride4CAP!), and hanging out with his quirky PDX friends.
Special thanks to Rosemary Ragusa Photography for making Fallon & Claire look fabulous!
